Our STORY

A Vision Rooted in Legacy and hospitality

Our story begins in Mexico City, where our family, originally immersed in real estate ventures, dared to dream of something entirely different. In 2012, Xavier and Cecilia bought this piece of paradise, awith their three teenage children, left their familiar lives behind to embrace the unknown, embarking on a thrilling journey in Napa Valley’s last frontier—Pope Valley.

Nestled within the Vaca Range mountains in the northeastern part of Napa, our ranch embodies a rugged and untouched beauty rarely explored. With this land as our canvas, we crafted our first vintage in 2015 in collaboration with our dear friend and renowned winemaker, Andy Erickson. Specializing in Bordeaux varietals, we now proudly produce a Cabernet Sauvignon, a Bordeaux blend called Blacktail, and a Sauvignon Blanc named Palomino—each a testament to our land's unique character.

Our mission transcends winemaking; it’s about stewardship. We aim to leave our land better than we found it and build a multi-generational legacy of hospitality that celebrates the joy of sharing a table, forging connections, and crafting exceptional wines for the world.

Life centers on the outdoors, family, and sharing things of beauty. We exist to share what we make of our land together for generations to come.

As a true family-owned winery, every member plays a vital role. Jeronimo leads the winery operations, while Mauricio oversees the vineyards, ensuring the magic of our land is reflected in every bottle.

Winemaker

Andy Erickson

“I’ll never forget the first day I set foot on the Hine Ranch in PopeValley. The place is so expansive and natural, far away from the noise of the Valley proper, and full of life. I had known Xavier for several years, and known that he wanted to have a vineyard property and produce wine. Exploring the property and seeing the potential of the land, and some of the old existing vines, we decided to see what we could do. Ten vintages in, we are amazed at the wines we are producing, and at what the future holds as well. It feels like we are just getting started, and that the land has a lot of stories to tell.”

Our wines bear the artistry of Andy Erickson, a luminary in Napa Valley and a cherished friend. Known for crafting legendary vintages, Andy gained acclaim as winemaker for Screaming Eagle, and has lent his expertise to some of Napa’s most prestigious estates, including Staglin, Dalla Valle, and Harlan.

Andy approaches winemaking with a boundless passion and precision, pushing boundaries to bring out the absolute best from our property. His vision and craftsmanship elevate our wines to extraordinary heights.

THE PLACE

Discovering Napa’s Hidden Gem

Pope Valley offers a rare glimpse of Napa as it once was—authentic, untamed, and brimming with charm. Located off the beaten path, this nine-mile-long, three-mile-wide valley remains a well-kept secret, largely untouched by modern tourism. Our local friends often say, “Drive ten miles east, and you go back fifty years.”

Here, among rolling hills and the rugged expanse of the Vaca Range, you'll find a land shaped by its farmers, cattle, and diverse crops. Our 1,200-acre ranch boasts an extraordinary range of soils—clay, loam, and volcanic—all contributing to the uniqueness of our wines.
